The Moderator, or Game-master, is the one responsible for the setup, balance, Color, vote counts, resolving Night actions, and reveals of a game.

The moderator is a largely thankless task. In most games, it's taken for granted that things will go smoothly, but if things go wrong the moderator is the first to get blamed.

It's definitely recommended that you have someone be your co-mod in games that involve more than 15 players, as having someone else to cross-check your work and step in should you become inconvenienced is an invaluable asset.

To be the Moderator is also fun. You get to design the game and to think up ways to make sure the balance work. A very nice way to mod the first time is in mini-games on idlemafia.com. If you want to know more about Game Design and how to balance a game - this is the place to look :)
